Best Thanksgiving Turkey Ever!, November 23, 2007

"We tried the maple brine this year and oh boy was it good! Our 12 pound bird was brined overnight and then onto the weber grill. We strained the brine and saved the garlic cloves, bay leaves and thyme to put inside the bird after rinsing it. The taste was slightly maple bacon and smoky. The bird was so moist, even the white meat was succulent.

My brother did a deep-fry in peanut oil with a self-basting bird, and so you can just imagine how tender his was, and yet our maple brined bird just blew his away with its rich deep flavor. We won the bird off with this maple brine recipe. Thanks!"
